During this project, with a team of 8 students developed a new regional masterplan in The area of Dordrecht and Zwijndrecht. Each team member had a different role, mine was that of a landscape architecture advisor. A key aspect of this course was negotiating with other team members to come to an integral masterplan.
Because of the complex located near the river, I focussed as landscape architect mainly on the problem of an unattractive and potentially dangerous riverfront. We tried to make this waterfront more resilient by softening the dikes and making more room for the river. together with the urban planner, I designed a housing typology that doesn’t fight against the water but a situated on top of the water, leaving room for nature and water.
In the end, we were selected to present our plan to the associated municipality.
